Mass Effect 2 is still fresh in gamer’s minds and I’m pretty sure most of us have yet to complete the 30+ hour game (that’s including the side stories) but that’s not keeping EA from leaking new info on the franchise. Electronic Arts’ John Schappert said “something far-reaching” is on the way for the Mass Effect series due out in the fourth quarter of their 2011 fiscal year (meaning January 1st to March 31st, 2011). BioWare has already stated that the third, and final, installment in the trilogy will be out more quickly than the second was to the first Mass Effect, and if this is what EA is hinting at we could see the story wrap up by early 2011.
Whatever it is I’m sure we’re all excited to see what’s in store for one of gaming’s premier franchises, and it’s safe to say the future of BioWare is looking extremely exciting with an upcoming Dragon Age game, the long anticipated Star Wars: The Old Republic, and whatever this new Mass Effect game is.
