WETA Workshops, prop team behind Lord of the Rings and District 9, has built a working sentry gun from Valve’s Team Fortress 2.
Unfortunately however, it can’t actually kill people. It can however track your movement, make sound effects from the game, and just be awesome in general.
Take a gander at this piece of gaming pimposity:
It now sits at the entrance to Valve’s headquarters. They say that it was the result of a request they made ”a few months ago [when] we got a chance to visit Weta Workshop.”
Kotaku writer Luke Plunkett raises the excellent and tittilating question of why exactly Valve flew all the way to New Zealand to visit a movie prop studio.
