Metro 2033 Set for a March Release

THQ have announced that their 360 and PC title, Metro 2033, will be launched on March 19.

The game is based on a cult novel by Dmitry Glukhovsky and will be presented as a post-apocolyptic shooter. The game’s story presents the Earth as a relatively uninhabitable place, following a nuclear holocaust. With the planet’s surface being rendered unlivable, mankind is forced underground, into Mosco’s metro system. Set 20 years after the human migration into the underground, you take the role of Artyom, where you are forced into the heart of the metro underground on a desperate mission.

The game was first announced at the game convention in Leipzig in 2006 and is reported to have RPG, survival and horror elements.
