Square Enix head honcho Tetsuya Nomura has hinted heavily at the future continuation of the critically acclaimed Kingdom Hearts Series. While the prequel instalment on the Nintendo DS is the most recent incanation to be added to the series roster, a full home console release would be a stunning move forward, taking the franchise into the next generation in a year that could also see the release of Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Neir, as well as the stunning Final Fantasy XIII, which is already available in Japan.
The information, as limited as anyone would expect for a Square Enix developed game, has been released in the newest issue of Famitsu Magazine, featuring series favourite Sora on the cover. Most interesting is the admission that Nomura knows of the fan demand in seeing a new Kingdom Hearts, and that it would be considered as soon as possible. This information is particularly interesting considering Nomura’s comments surrounding an announcement due to come soon regarding a so far unnamed brand new game in development for Square Enix. Could Kingdom Hearts III be the game in question?

If they do make one, the best way to do it would be to have the entire action part of the game be like the 1000 heartless battle in KH2. As in anywhere you fight heartless, you’re tearing through entire armies of them at a time, instead of only half-a-dozen tops.
Sora has a ridiculous level of power by the end of KH2, it’s only fitting that the challenge scales up to show that.
