HALO Encyclopedia – Definitive Guide to the Halo Universe

Foreword by Frank O’Connor

‘I can still remember the first time I really experienced Halo…it was stepping out of the crashed escape pod and into a world that would consume my professional and creative life for the next seven years. In the following pages, you’ll find a great deal of depth and drama and data – some familiar, some new. It’s fiction, of course, but we only ever want it to feel real. Because it’s real to us. These are places and times that we want to share with you.’ Frank O’ Connor – foreword

Widely described as Microsoft’s ‘Killer App’ the Halo franchise is one of the biggest entertainment properties in history and one of the fastest selling video games ever. 1. They just keep squeezing and squeezing. Halo encyclopedia? Come on! And here i thought EA we’re the milking guys.. I’m sure there are about 10 websites that will give you the exact same info.. Without paying them 30$.

  2. Its all about the cash grab these days, anything you can push out the door that can generate return they will do it. Its like the hype on teen movies, they brand literally “everything” .. then people get board and they end up at the dollar store 8 for 1. Im sure the “definitive guide” has some good stuff in it, but you are right.. with the thousands of fan sites out there covering material.. its not worth the 30 bucks unless you really want a book on the shelf.

  3. There’s already a Halo Wikia, which will have all of that information online within one week of release. Still, it is good reading material to have if you have a friend who isn’t a Halo fan (I myself am on that list, I don’t even know the plot XD), instead of explaining everything, you can hit him with it and say “Go memorize.”
