LucasArts announces Lucidity

LucasArts have officially announced Lucidity – a brand new adventure game with a unique look and feel. The game will be released for PC and Xbox 360. Lucidity will place you in the shoes of a young girl named Sophie who will explore a colorful world by completing different puzzles along the way.

Could this be an attempt to revive LucasArts’s classic adventure games like Grim Fandango and Maniac Mansion? I sure hope so.

  1. There’s no denying that LucasArts are the genuine article when it comes to puzzle/adventure games. And thanks for reminding me of Grim Fandango, even though that game hardly sold, its one of those hidden treasures you should always play if you get the chance. They should give that thing a re-release.

I’ll be keeping an eye out for this, it doesn’t look much just now, but hey, neither does any adventure game by LucasArts, you need to play it to know the awesome.

  2. I have a copy of Grim Fandango that’s never worked, whatever patch or computer I throw at it. So a lot of my feelings for Lucasarts are vicarious (through reading about them, through other Tim Schafer stuff and especially through my absolute love of Zombie Cow’s point-n-click games that I wrote about this week.)

But more pointy, clicky games can’t be bad. (Even though I haven’t played one of this new wave that I’ve particularly enjoyed.)

  3. Aww, you seriously missed out on it. Does it like, not install or does it install and never work? You could try the compatibility modes if you’re using XP, that solves a lot of my problems.
