Forza Motorsport 3 Surpasses 1 Million Mark

Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios announced just yesterday that Forza Motorsport 3 passed the 1 million copies sold mark since its release at the end of October.  It may not be as big as Modern Warfare 2’s 5 day sales of $5.5 million, but it is impressive nevertheless to see a racing sim putting up substantial numbers like this.

They also released some stats concerning online play with Forza Motorsport 3 as well.  Online users have logged more than 6.6 million hours of play and have amassed over 590 million miles.  That is the equivalent of travelling around the world 23,693 times.  Let’s also not forget to consider the amount of hours and miles put in by those who do not play online.  With staggering numbers like these it’s easy to see that Forza has a fan base that proves that Modern Warfare 2 isn’t the only game being played right now.

Microsoft also announced that due to the strong sales numbers they will be releasing a car pack (which is available as of yesterday) called the “Hot Holidays” car pack for only 400 MS points on Xbox Live.  The car list includes:

1. 2010 Ferrari 599XX
2. 2010 Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss
3. 2010 Lamborghini LP6700-4 SV
4. 2010 Porsche Panamera Turbo
5. 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia
6. 2010 Jaguar XFR
7. 2010 Audi S4
8. 2009 Aston Martin #007 AMR Lola
9. 2009 Audi #2 Sport Team Joest R15 TDI
10. 2010 Nissan GT-R Spec V

Another car pack will be released Jan. 12, 2010.  So let’s keep on racking up those miles race fans.
