Very little is known about Halo: Reach, Bungie’s next entry in the Halo franchise, which isn’t due out until Fall of 2010. However, a recent comment from Halo writer and creative director suggests that the game may see the return of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers.
“I can’t comment on any future plans for our ODSTs. But it would be a shame if we made a game about the planet Reach — a place where Buck, the ODST’s squad leader, was known to be — and not have him appear in some way shape or form.”
That was what Staten replied when questioned on the subject. Nathan Fillion, who played the role of Buck, the ODST’s squad leader, has expressed interest in Reach.
The Spike TV videogame awards that air this Saturday will have an exclusive premiere of Reach, so maybe we’ll know more then. If you miss it, fret not, as I’m sure the footage will appear online somewhere and make its way here to Gamer Syndrome.
Personally, I thought the ODSTs were much cooler than Master Chief, so I would love to see them return. Are you guys on Team Master Chief or Team ODST?
