Bloody Disgusting has an interesting column where they take a look at upcoming horror titles and discuss what they would like to see in these games. The most recent game to get the spotlight was Batman: Arkham Asylum 2, and they’ve come up with more than a few clever ideas I’d like to see in the next game. The idea of an open world Batman game gets me excited, jumping from rooftop to rooftop, gliding from a tall clock tower onto a couple of unsuspecting thugs, and the infinite possibilities that come with going from a mostly linear world (that Arkham Asylum was) to the city of Gotham.
Vehicles are one of the more exciting concepts, mainly since Batman has such a sweet garage of badass transportation at his disposal. The Batmobile, Batplane, Batcycle and Batcopter (even though I hadn’t heard of that last one until recently) would provide a great new way to make your way across Gotham City when you’re sick of gliding or grappling. The idea of having some sort of multiplayer other than leaderboards, especially coop Challenge Rooms or the less likely but exponentially more exciting cooperative campaign, is very compelling.
So what would you like to see in Rocksteady’s sequel to Arkham Asylum? Zombies are all the rage, maybe they should sprinkle in a couple of those? I’m partial to having more Scarecrow sections myself, but let me know what you’d like to see. Who knows? Maybe Rocksteady will take notice (it’s been done before) and give us some of these features.
