In a statement made yesterday at an investor’s conference, Ubisoft stated that they plan to release a number of games specifically for Project Natal and the PlayStation Motion Controller when the peripherals finally debut. Guillemot says, “We have around ten games that will come out for Natal during the first six months of its release, and we expect four to five games for Sony’s new motion controller.”
These games will likely be geared more towards casual gamers rather than hardcore, but that is not to say that “hardcore” games will not be created to support the functions of those peripherals.
The big catch in this whole story is Ubisofts determination to go forward with creating “casual” games utilizing motion controls despite the fact that they lost a lot of money due to their latest failure with “casual” Wii releases. Only time will tell if they will have better luck with Natal and PlayStation Motion Controller.
