Those eagerly anticipating the release of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories on the Wii need not wait much longer. Soon, you’ll be able to get your greedy little mitts on the latest Silent Hill outing. That’s if you have a Wii, of course. Konami announced yesterday that their upcoming Silent Hill game would be available to Wii owners on December 8. Unfortunately for those holding out on the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable versions, no release date has been confirmed for those two platforms as of yet.
Konami has gone on record of calling Silent Hill: Shattered Memories a reimagining, not a remake. This will be the first Silent Hill game to be released for Nintendo’s Wii, and the developers have stated that the game will indeed have motion controls. Players will use the Wii Remote as a flashlight and a cell phone among other things, and one can only assume that the controller will be used to solve different puzzles.
The premise of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories revolves around Harry Mason and his quest to find his daughter. As Mason, players will search the haunting city of Silent Hill, solve puzzles, and deal with monsters and other such creatures.
With the release of Silent Hill: Homecoming for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, the Wii was left in the dark in regards to this particular horror action-adventure series. That will change this December, however, as Wii owners itching to take a stroll down the creepy streets of Silent Hill will soon be able to do just that.
