It should come as no surprise to any gamer that Modern Warfare 2 is a big deal. After all, it is the sequel to the most popular first person shooter yet made, Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare, which sold over 14 million copies across the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC platforms. But apparently Activision Blizzard considers Modern Warfare 2 a big enough game to justify a custom controller. The Modern Warfare 2 custom controller won’t just be a recolored gamepad, as are sometimes seen for games like Halo 3. Instead, the controller will be physically different than the standard Xbox 360 and PS3 controllers, according to a twitter post by Infinity Ward employee Robert Bowling.
Bowling asks whether gamers would prefer a concave or convex surface on the analog sticks of the Modern Warfare 2 controller. What do you think? Currently both the 360 and PS3 gamepads use concave surfaces on their analogs, but would a convex be superior? Is a Modern Warfare 2 custom controller overkill? Let us know in the comments section.

interesting they would create a custom controller for the game, it is huge and there is a market for it but would the controller work just with MW2? or would it have cross game functionality? Personally I would go with a convex controller but am I that hard core of a modern warfare 2 player to warrant dishing out the bucks? .. I guess if it would drastically improve gameplay but even that is questionable.
Most likely will be cross-game. I prefer concave myself, but convex helps if I end up sweating a lot, which does happen when the battle is really close and I’m a hairs breadth from winning and losing.
I’m not too sure why they would want to do this, maybe the same reason why they are going to include “fully working night vision goggles” in their prestige edition.
I’ve had a madcatz controller before and it was cheap and tacky… I hope this mw2 controller wont be the same.
