I highly doubt that I was the only one who saw a delay for Max Payne 3 coming. The highly anticipated third installment in the third-person shooter series hasn’t received the insurmountable amount of press that a game of its caliber usually does. We’ve gotten a ton of screens, some developer interviews, and a trailer that had questionable authenticity at best.
Originally slated for a release later this month, Take Two Interactive stated that the delay would help the game “benefit from having more development time.” So how far down has Max Payne 3’s release been pushed? As of right now, the game has been delayed until the fourth quarter of 2010, with a release scheduled sometime between March and June.
According to the folks over at Take Two, Max Payne 3 is not the only game to be delayed. A number of other franchises have also been pushed back with the same reasoning given to those delays. What are your thoughts on Max Payne 3’s now Q4 release window? Could it be that the devs are trying to polish the game up some more? Perhaps they want to add some bonus content? Maybe the game’s engine needs some sprucing up? Or could it simply be that the game just isn’t finished yet?
