Head of Rare Studio, Mark Betteridge, recently had an interview with magazine Games TM and gave us some hints as to a possible future installment of the Killer Instinct franchise. He goes to say, “It’s about timing, and it’s about the opportunity creatively and gameplay-wise that it would offer. Street Fighter IV looked great and they’ve done a great job, and I’m a big fan of those products, but with KI we want to do something different rather than go back into that arena.” He later states, “I think it’s about doing something different than with a conventional controller.”
Since Microsoft and Rare teamed up in recent history, it’s safe to assume that a Killer Instinct release would find its place on the Xbox 360. Betteridge’s last statement also makes us assume that we may see Killer Instinct using Natal rather than a controller. Although none of this is set in stone we can’t help but be excited about a possible Killer Instinct release, and one that will use Natal. Until it is announced we can only speculate.
