Level-5 and Nintendo have brought gamers some of the best, most addictive titles in the puzzle genre with the Professor Layton series. While most gamers have only had the pleasure of playing the first two games in the trilogy, DS owners in Japan are currently on the series’ second trilogy.
Professor Layton and the Devil’s Flute will be released tomorrow, November 26, in Japan. It is the fourth game in the series and the first game in the brand-new Layton trilogy, which takes place three years before the Curious Village. The game tells the story of how the puzzle-solving Professor met his young apprentice Luke, and it features all the puzzle-solving fun Layton fans have come to know and love as well as an unlockable RPG game.
At a launch event for the Devil’s Flute, Level-5 president Akihiro Hino presented fans with some new artwork. The promotional piece is for Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, which is currently set for a fall 2010 release. The game will feature Professor Layton as he explores Casino City in search of the titular Miracle Mask. It is currently rumored that the fifth game in the series will change up different gameplay elements, but nothing is set in stone as of yet.
