When they’re not grilling shrimps on the barbie or worrying about the dingo that just ate their baby the Aussie government is being proving their ignorance of video games. Many games have had to change their content to see the light of day (Left 4 Dead for example) and some titles have been banned completely, including the upcoming Aliens vs. Predator game. Well, worry no more as the game will be hitting Aussie xboxes now that the ruling to refuse classification has been overturned.
It gets even better, since the game will not be undergoing any changes in content. Sega Australia’s Darren Macbeth said “We are particularly proud that the game will be released in its original entirety, with no content altered or removed whatsoever. This is a big win for Australian gamers. We applaud the Classification Review Board on making a decision that clearly considers the context of the game, and is in line with the modern expectations of reasonable Australians”.
This isn’t just a win for Australians, this is a win for the entire world. Especially since the game looks quite good.
Aliens vs. Predator releases for the Xbox 360, PC and PS3 on February 19th, 2010.
