Wolfenstein

Wolfenstein

Wolfenstein is a science fiction first person shooter video game that was developed by Raven Software, id Software, pi Studios and Endrant Studios. The game is published by Activison and is yet to be released in August 2009. Microsoft Windows, the play station 3, Xbox 360 and the Linux are the platforms for this game. The genre of the game is also survival horror and features the single player and multiplayer modes.

The game takes us back to the Second World War in 1943. The Nazi war machine still has its boot on mainland Europe. There is also Heinrich Himmler’s plan to control a supernatural force, which is known as the Black Sun. Once this supernatural power is attained, it will be impossible for any army or person on earth to stop the Reich. However, one agent is capable of stopping all this from happening. Special agent B.J. Blazkowicz and his special talents is the only one that can stop this chaos. The player take assumes the role of this special agent in a mission to destroy the enemy for the last time.

Features in this game includes a supernatural realm called the Veil, whereby when you are in this realm, you have access to certain special abilities, for example the ability to get around objects that are present in the real world, kill enemies that are otherwise impossible to kill because of their skin that is not penetrable and the ability to slow down time. Another feature to look forward to in this game includes a new lighting technique that allows more than 90 dynamic lights in the scene. This lighting system, which is known as ‘Deferred Shading’ allows volumes of soft shadow and a particle system.

There is increased performance on multi core systems in Wolfenstein, something you need to look forward to. The enemies in this game include The Elite Guard, who are very assertive when they spot the player; the scribes, who use the power of the black sun to give power to the Nazis; the Despoiled, who are creatures that are made by the Elite Guards; the Veil Heavy Trooper, who are the enemies that have increased strength and resistance to damage; the SS infantry, who are a group of fearless soldiers that are associated with the Nazis and the Veil Assassins, who are the same with the replica assassins in F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin.
