Visceral Games and Electronic Arts have announced Dead Space 2, the sequel to their hit survival horror game. The game will be available on PC, PS3 and Xbox360. This came as a no surprise, considering the information for the game leaked some time ago, along with a rumor of it supporting multiplayer. The protogonist from the previous game, Isaac Clark, will return in the sequel, fighting for his survival against the hordes of Necromorphs.
According to executive producer Steve Papoutsis “The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it. There are still loads of necromorphs that need killing. In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems. Expect plot twists that will surprise you and a huge cast of twisted, disgusting monsters that are sure to scare the daylights out of you.”
Visceral games have also confirmed that the arsenal of “weapons” from the original game will be enrichened in the sequel. The release date for Dead Space 2 is yet to be announced.
