Bee Movie Game

Bee Movie Game

The Bee Movie game is a video game that is developed by Beenox for the Xbox 360, Playstation 2 and Windows version. Smart Bomb interactive and Vicarious Visions developed the game for the wii and Nintendo DS versions respectively.  The game was released in October 2007 and was published by Activision.

The video game is of an action and adventure genre that is based on the film Bee movie. The player embarks on an adventure to rescue the bees’ production of honey. You will be required to fly, chase and blast your way in the video game. The player assumes the role of Barry B. Benson who is learning to collect pollen for the benefit of the entire hive. You will also be flying over New York City so you have more to look forward to, other than the hive. The areas that Barry can explore include New Hive City, The Honey farm, Grocery Store and Central Park. There are various mini games in the Bee Movie game that come up during the course of Barry’s’ training exercise. These minigames help him survive and get through the game.

Missions that are in the game consist of the basic ‘run and fetch’ where you will be collecting pollen for the hive while facing obstacles along the way. Obstacles that you may meet while collecting the pollen and delivering it to the hive include birds, dogs, sprinklers and rain shower. For example, when you want to get rid of the dog as a hindrance, Barry may throw him a dog bone so that he is distracted and he can freely finish his mission. AS you move up the levels, the game becomes increasingly difficult and more challenging.

You can watch cut-scene style movies during and after the pollen training exercises. The sound played out throughout the game is acceptable and keeps you focused on the game. If you are looking to buy a game that will keep you young child entertained for a while, Bee Movie game will do just the trick.
The controls of the game are user friendly as they are quite simple, thus side missions will be simpler to access. The graphics are above average and there is the presence of voice-overs in a few places in the game between characters.

The story mode is quite short though and the levels are not so challenging for the older gamers. The game is also presented in 3D format.
