120 GB PS3? How About 250!

Sony officially revealed to the world at this year’s GamesCom that they were going to release the PS3 Slim…  But we already knew that thanks to the hundreds of forum threads, rumor articles, and online community blogs.  Still, it was nice to hear it from Sony themselves.  Now, the latest rumor has been unleashed for all to hear.  Word on the street is that Sony plans on releasing a 250 GB PlayStation 3 Slim.

So far, Sony has released their current-gen console in just about every format possible, from 20 GB all the way to 120 GB models.  It should come as no surprise then that the Japanese corporation is planning a model with even more space than ever before.  Although Sony reps have refused to mention anything regarding the topic, it is safe to assume that a 250 GB PlayStation 3 is not out of the question.

60 GB is so 2006!

Just when will Sony be releasing the 250 GB PS3?  Will it come bundled with any noteworthy software?  Is this model going to be significantly pricier than its 120 GB counterpart?  Lastly, just what are we going to do with all that extra space?

  1. It could have been leaked to gauge interest, or it could be just a rumor, or it could be the real deal. I’m sure there is a lot that could be put on that space. I don’t see it going to waste at all. Time will tell on this one.

  2. I cant actually see why they wouldn’t have released that news with the PS3 slim at the time.. I guess its all publicity. But the fact is its just a hard drive, I cant believe its a huge deal for them to upgrade it to a 250.. the only obstacle to them is cost which they would have passed onto the consumer anyhow.

  3. Cant believe that ps3 again is being upgraded to 250 and not to forget it would be slim again. After releasing psp they again released a version of it in slim type. What would be the next product again that players would be waiting for?
