Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising Gets Release Date

The upcoming expansion to the popular RTS Dawn of War II, titled Chaos Rising, will be released in the US on March 11th of next year, with Europe getting the expansion the very next day, according to the official THQ UK Twitter account.

This is the game’s second expansions, as developer Relic Entertainment released the free DLC pack The Last Stand on October 14th. In The Last Stand, players had to work together to fight off several waves of enemies. If they were lucky enough to make it to the last wave, they got a glimpse of what’s to come in Chaos Rising in the form of a Chaos Terminator.

In addition to the sneak peek in The Last Stand, before Chaos Rising was even announced, several moderators for Warhammer fansites were sent minature models of Chaos Terminators.

Since its release in February of this year, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II has recieved mostly positive reviews and scored 85% on Metacritic.com. Our very own Joar also recommended the game in his holiday gift guide. I know it’s a ways off, but who plans on picking it up?

  1. Do I have to say that while Blizzard rest and Westwood are getting their asses whooped by EA, Relic are the ones who keep the RTS genre alive?
