Just last week we announced that EA had plans of bringing Mirror’s Edge, currently available on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, to Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch. Originally a fast-paced first-person action platformer (talk about genre-meshing), Mirror’s Edge on Apple’s handheld platforms will feature side-scrolling gameplay in crisp, clear 3D environments.
A handful of screens were released last week, but the first trailer for the game has just made its way onto the internet. (Check it out below.) In it, we see animated cut-scenes as well as some gameplay featuring protagonist Faith Connors doing what she does best, which is running and jumping (as well as some occasional butt-kicking). Unfortunately, the trailer doesn’t reveal a control scheme of any kind for the game, so we’ll have to wait and see just how gamers will take control of the acrobatic heroine.
No new price or release details are given either, save for the previously mentioned January 2010 release. Mirror’s Edge for the iPhone and iPod Touch will certainly be an interesting game to say the least. What kind of control scheme can we expect to see when the game is finally available on the App Store?
