The newest addition to the Lucasarts arsenal, Republic Heroes has been announced and set for release on September 16th, 2009. The game will follow the Cartoon Networks series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and the storyline will reflect many aspects of the television series. Republic Heroes will also feature many playable characters from the series such as Anakin, Obi-Wan, Mace Windu, and of course the generic clone trooper. These characters will be used to play through 30 different missions, with the eventual goal of capturing the elusive bounty hunter Cad Bane, as well as combat other new enemies.
Players will be able to play co-operatively with each other, and the Xbox, PS3, and PC versions will allow players to drop in and out of games, giving the game an extra unique twist. Another intersting feature is the plan to release the game on PC, Playstation 1 and 2, Xbox 360, DS and even PSP. How the developers will pull off such a feat is beyond me, and the quality of such an all encompasing game remains questionable. The game will feature graphics from the television series, and will even be touch screen compatible with the Nintendo DS.
So if you are a Star Wars fan, or even just a curious gamer, make sure to keep tabs on this exciting new addition from Lucasarts.
