Kevin McKidd: Possible Call of Duty the Movie

WHAT? yes you read that correctly Kevin McKidd who voices Captain “Soap” MacTavish in “Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2” has leaked news that he is in talks about a feature movie for call of duty.  There is no additional information other then the below quote by the actor but its got most of the Call Of Duty fans on edge as a feature film for this game would be nothing short of Epic.

“They were looking for a rough, Scottish actor in Hollywood they probably couldn’t get Gerard Butler, so they got the No. 2 Gerard Butler, me. I had no idea it would be so huge, and now there are talks of a feature film,” he revealed to PopWrap. Then came the kicker, when asked if he would be bringing Soap to life in the movie, he said, “if the script is good, and Gerard isn’t available [laughs], then absolutely.”

In May online syndication The Hollywood Reporter broke news that Activision was considering a Guitar hero and Call Of Duty movies.  Of course our favorite CEO Bobby Kotick declined to comment or even hint on the possibilities that these would be turned into feature films.    As a further note just last month Activision filed to protect the “Call of Duty” trademark for “pre-recorded movies featuring comedy, drama, action, adventure, music, theatrical performances and/or animation.” .. hint hint?

  1. Exactly what we need, more movies based around global warfare. Look, there’s plenty of those already. Call Of Duty may look amazing and dramatic as a video game, but being a movie will destroy everything.. Now all we need is a director. I vote for Uwe Boll.
