Halo Legends: The Babysitter (Preview)

“What we’ve wanted, or a big let down?”

A preview of the up-coming Halo Legends series is now available to be..well, previewed. Halo Legends will be split into 7 parts and is an animated series.

The series will also be available on the Playstation 3 as a disk, thus making it the first Halo title on the PS3.

Now, some aspects of the preview made it look good, for example the animation of the Grunts are quite amazing. But (and this is a big but), other aspects such as the Marines just made me think twice about this “movie”. For me the hair of some of the ODST just didn’t fit with the actual game.

But I won’t rant on about certain parts I didn’t like, have your say, comment.

  1. It’s an anime. Not a movie. All i can say is – typical japanese style, boring character development, different styles on each scene. The CG was amazing, everything else was pure crap.

  2. @ Joar:

Didn’t you notice the (“) before and after the word movie?

I’m not calling it a movie, it’s being considered as one.

And yeah, I didn’t like the different styles on each scene either.

  3. “typical japanese style, boring character development”

Joar, I sentence you to watching Ef – A Tale of Memories. It’s 13 eps, you can find it on AnimeSeed.

Not sure if I’ll watch this, you’d either need to be a Halo fan to appreciate it, or you need to know the basics of Halo but not consider the game when watching it.

Kinda like the Tsukihime anime, it’s pretty good, but if you talk about it near someone who has read the visual novel, you will be killed on the spot.

  4. OrganizationXIII, and how will watching it change my opinion on the Halo anime? Believe me, i’ve watched my fair share and saw nothing original in the Halo anime, or at least the video. From the way they introduced the characters, to the way the spartan fought the grunt. Nothing we’ve never seen before. The japanese can come up with a few original ideas, but let’s face it – they overuse stuff just about as much.

  5. I was not impressed when I seen the previews of this new anime, it reminded me of old school gundam from the 80’s and early 90’s. Even the hair is japanese Anime style … could have been way better.
